“Man Alive!”
- a euphemism for “Oh my God!,” originated two centuries ago, used to express shock or awe
- a literal translation of the Welsh phrase “Dyn byw!,” which served as a euphemism for “Duw!” (“God!”)
- an expression exclaimed by seamen along the Great Lakes and on the Atlantic to indicate an accidental fall overboard or shipwreck
